Welcome to the support section, here you can find common problems and solutions, snippets and background information.

This is the MUx chapter, the biggest and only chapter so far..

To activate support mode, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure the MU1 is connected to the network.
2. Unplug the MU1 from the mains power.
3. Plug the keyboard into the usb port on the back.
4. Plug in the power cable.
5. Repeatedly press the S key of the keyboard until:
   • Either the Num Lock light is on for at least 5 seconds or if your keyboard does not have a Num Lock light:
   • You have been pressing the S key for 1 minute.

The display of the MU1 will stay blank, please let us know when you are done and we will check out your unit asap.

The machine should have reboot and show “Waiting for Extension” on the display. Please start your Roon remote, click on “Select different Server” (as the unique ID of the server was also reset) and connect to the MU1. When you are logged in you can run through the first time setup and add some music (please limit the amount of tracks to start with), after that enable the MU1 audio device under connected to Roon Server → Show All. To finish up, enable the Grimm extension via Settings → Extensions and press Enable for the Grimm Audio extension. The unit should be up and running now.

1. Make sure the Roon server on your old machine is the exact same build version as on the new machine.
2. Remove the Grimm MU extension on the old and the new machine (if applicable).
3. Copy your music from the old storage to the Music folder on internal disk of the new machine.
4. Delete all watched folders in the storage settings of Roon on the old machine. This will not delete the files, just what Roon is watching.
5. Make a backup of Roon in the old machine using the Roon backup facility.
6. Reset the Roon database of the MU using the web interface. Go to the settings page → Advanced and click on Reset Roon database. Confirm in the popup.
7. Log out the Roon account on the old machine.
8. In the Roon remote you should see the new Roon server on the MU. Connect to the MU, you should get the login page.
9. At the bottom you have the Restore a backup button. Click this and restore the backup of the old core.
10. You might have to log in to your Roon account after restoring the backup.
11. When logged in you can enable the Grimm Extension via settings → Extensions.
12. The internal disk of the MU is automatically added to the Roon storage settings as Music disk. If your Music does not show; Make sure the files are in the Music folder and not just the music share. (So music goes into \\MUx-00xxxx\music\Music\)
